What to Expect During Assessment
Before the Appointment
You’ll complete questionnaires about your child’s development, medical history, and behaviors.
During Assessment (2-4 hours)
Your child will engage in various activities, play scenarios, and structured tasks. Our clinicians are skilled at working with children of all ability levels, adjusting the pace to match your child’s comfort. Many children find the activities interesting and enjoyable.
After Evaluation (2-3 weeks)
Understanding the Results
Three Possible Outcomes:
Autism Spectrum Disorder Diagnosis
If criteria are met, the report details your child’s specific profile, support level, and recommendations. This opens doors to ABA therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and educational supports.
Other Developmental Diagnosis
Sometimes evaluation reveals a different condition such as developmental delay, communication disorder, or ADHD. We’ll provide information and recommendations for appropriate services.
No Diagnosis
If your child doesn’t meet criteria for autism or another developmental disorder, we’ll discuss their developmental profile and any areas where support could be beneficial.
